.375 Ultra Reloads
By Gary McCraw, Shooting Section Leader
In the Arizona Outdoorsman Magazine, issue number 5, there was an article titled “Remington’s .375 Rem. Ultra Mag, A True Test”. Being a shooter more than a trophy hunter kind of reverses most of my hunting stories. I get more of a thrill from taking a new or used rifle from the shelf and making it a shooter. The fact I shot the bull elk is exciting enough, but add the fact I put the package together is even better. I used a Remington 700 LSS, .375 Rem. Ultra Mag., 26” barrel with KDF muzzle brake, and a Leupold Vari-x III 4.5-14x40AO.
For those of you who own or wish to own a .375 Ultra Mag here are some load combinations that the rifle was tested with. All loads are from manufacturer’s loading manuals.
